MUNER, the Motorvehicle University of Emilia-Romagna, is where I went deep into the electric vehicle with a Master's in Electric Vehicle Engineering.

What I did

  1. 01

Courses in energy storage, advanced electric drives, sensors, power converters, EMC, wireless power transfer, vehicle dynamics and control.

  2. 02

Designing and simulating every sub-component of a powertrain, motor and converter above all, supported by finite-element analysis.

  3. 03

Ten reports and slide decks, from electric machine design to a business plan.

  4. 04

Thesis: EMC challenges in electric drives based on wide-bandgap devices for automotive applications.

  5. 05

TACC entrepreneurship training and the MUNER international summer school.

Context

Getting that close to the physics of the powertrain is exactly why I chose to continue with a PhD.
